This comprehensive two-day Advanced POCUS course is designed for clinicians who already understand the basics of bedside ultrasound and want to upgrade their skills to an advanced acute and critical care level.
Participants will learn high-level scanning protocols, focused echocardiography, advanced cardiac evaluation, lung ultrasound in acute respiratory failure, vascular assessment, ocular ultrasound, DVT evaluation, airway ultrasound, and shock assessment.
The course integrates case-based learning, interactive discussions, and extensive hands-on training using ultrasound machines, volunteers, and phantoms under expert supervision.

1. Advanced Ultrasound Physics
Advanced image optimization, piezoelectric effect, high-resolution scanning, and probe selection for critical care.
2. Cardiac Ultrasound / Advanced ECHO
Advanced cardiac windows, LV and RV function assessment, cardiac output estimation, shock pattern recognition, and focused echocardiography in cardiac arrest.
3. Intravascular Volume Assessment
IVC collapsibility, fluid status assessment, preload assessment, and volume responsiveness.
4. Advanced Lung Ultrasound
ARDS patterns, lung ultrasound for respiratory failure, lung ultrasound versus chest X-ray, lung sliding, B-lines, consolidations, and effusions.
5. PE & DVT Ultrasound
Ultrasound indicators of pulmonary embolism, lower limb DVT protocol, vein compressibility, and clot identification.
6. Pericardial Effusion & Tamponade
Early detection of tamponade and hemodynamic correlation.
7. Ocular Ultrasound
Optic nerve sheath diameter, raised ICP indications, and retinal detachment screening.
8. Airway Ultrasound
Airway anatomy, confirmation of endotracheal tube placement, and identification of the cricothyroid membrane.
9. Advanced Shock & RUSH Protocol
Step-by-step shock assessment and integration of multi-organ ultrasound in critical settings.
Hands-On Training:
Participants engage in comprehensive hands-on sessions covering Advanced ECHO, lung ultrasound for ARDS and respiratory failure, DVT scanning, ocular and airway ultrasound, pericardial tamponade recognition, fluid status assessment, and real clinical case scenarios using volunteers, phantoms, and supervised ultrasound scanning.
