This one-day Point of Care Ultrasound in Obstetrics course introduces clinicians to practical obstetric ultrasound applications in emergency, acute care, and early pregnancy assessment.
Participants learn structured approaches to first trimester ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound basics, second and third trimester assessment, fetal viability, pregnancy location, and ultrasound use in urgent obstetric presentations.
The course combines focused teaching, case-based discussions, live demonstrations, and supervised hands-on scanning to help clinicians integrate obstetric POCUS safely into clinical decision-making.

Basic obstetric ultrasound principles, probe selection, image orientation, safety considerations, and clinical indications.
2. First Trimester Ultrasound
Pregnancy location, gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole, cardiac activity, dating basics, and red flags in early pregnancy.
3. Transvaginal Ultrasound Basics
Probe handling, patient safety, image orientation, pelvic anatomy, early pregnancy assessment, and structured scanning technique.
4. Second & Third Trimester Assessment
Fetal presentation, fetal cardiac activity, placental location basics, amniotic fluid assessment, and focused bedside obstetric evaluation.
5. Obstetric Emergencies
POCUS use in bleeding, suspected ectopic pregnancy, abdominal pain in pregnancy, trauma, and acute obstetric presentations.
6. Pelvic Anatomy & Image Interpretation
Recognition of uterus, adnexa, bladder, cul-de-sac, and clinically relevant pelvic ultrasound findings.
7. Clinical Integration
Using obstetric POCUS findings to support triage, escalation, referral, and urgent clinical decision-making.
8. Case-Based Discussion
Interactive review of obstetric ultrasound cases with emphasis on safe interpretation and clinical limitations.
